Pepper
Female, est DOB December 2023, Chihuahua Mix
Meet Princess Pepper, the pickiest, pluckiest, personality filled pup of them all!
Pepper is about 1-2 years old, about 15lbs, and a mix of chihuahua, fruit bat, and a few other unknown breeds.
Pepper came to us from a rural shelter where she was found on her own. We don't know much more about Pepper's story.
Pepper is a good dog. She is sweet, silly, and smart.
She loves to snuggle, and loves to make nests in blankets. She will give you kisses until you tell her to stop, and then she might just need to sneak a few more in anyway.She is very food motivated, and was quick to learn commands like "touch", "sit", and "crate". She would be a great candidate to teach tricks to! She also loves her ball, and will play fetch until your arm is starting to go numb.
Pepper is truly a great dog, and will make a great best friend for the right person.
However, Pepper is also a fearful dog.
This often comes out in the form of barking, vocalizing, moving away, and occasionally other tactics meant to scare people off. She wants to be friends, but she is nervous, and needs someone who understands that and is willing to work with her on this.
Addressing fearful stranger issues requires significant time and patience.
This will require a slower introduction process, and a person who wants to take the time to move at Pepper's pace, and who is committed to continuing her training.
Pepper has done well with the small dog in her foster home, so another dog might be a great way to help her confidence
(all dogs must do a meet and greet).
Pepper has done well with the cats in her foster home, but she does occasionally get the urge to chase them or nip when they get too close to her toys. A dog savvy cat should be fine.
Pepper is fully vetted, crate trained, house trained (with the occassional use of puppy pads), and knows basic leash and obedience skills.
The perfect home for Pepper would be an adults only home, with one or two adults, who are laid back and calm
(party people, we love you, but this isn't your girl).
An adopter who understands and has experience with Chihuahuas, or small breed dogs, is wonderful, but not required. Similarly, an adopter who has experience working with fearful or reactive dogs is a plus.
Most importantly, we are looking for an adopter who understands this will be a process that takes time, and is willing to put that time in.

Hail Mary

Meet Hail Mary!
An "oops" litter sailed into our orbit, and we couldn't let them fly by!
The sweetest and snuggliest, Hail Mary in the most likely to crawl up and demand cuddles from her foster family, both cat and human! When she's feeling energetic she loves to play with her siblings, chasing each other around and chasing her own tail constantly. She's the one most likely to be found hanging back from the action though, settling next to or with her foster parents but she's also quick to sneak around and pounce to get back in the game. She loves ear scritches and kicker toys!

Apollo

Meet Apollo!
We took this litter to help out a rescue partner working a heartbreaking hoarding case.
This little group came to us sniffly and skinny, and has grown into the sweetest bunch!
This adorable boy is named for Apollo, the twin brother of Artemis, and these two are indeed almost identical! Apollo, like his sister, are all black except for the tiniest spots of white on their chests. Together they look like a starry night sky!
Apollo was the sickest of the litter when they first came to their foster home, but he’s finally feeling better and coming out of his shell! He loves to play with his siblings, and he’s working on finally catching the wand toy before his sisters. He also loves treats from his people and is learning that pets and snuggles are actually pretty nice!
Apollo would love a home with older children as he continues coming out of his shell. He would make a great pair with Artemis or Athena.

Artemis

Meet Artemis!
We took this litter to help out a rescue partner working a heartbreaking hoarding case.
This little group came to us sniffly and skinny, and has grown into the sweetest bunch!
“Party Arti” is the oldest of the Greek litter, as well as the bravest and most social of the bunch. She is always ready to explore, play, or be involved in whatever you’re doing. She loves everyone she meets, and she has no fear around people, other cats, or dogs!
She is named after both the goddess and the recent space flight that sent a crew around the moon. Artemis lives up to these names by being an excellent companion, a brave explorer, and an all-around clever girl.
She likes treats, playing with toys, and falling asleep on her people. She would be a great fit for any household, but would also make a perfect pair with any of her siblings!

Meet Athena!

Athena is named after the Greek goddess of wisdom and her iconic helmet. While she is still working on accumulating the “wisdom” part, she definitely brings a balance to her litter and gets along well with everyone.
Athena is a delightful mix of cute, social, and playful. She loves to explore with Artemis, snuggle with Ares, and play with Apollo. She also loves hanging out with her people!
Athena would be a great fit for any home that has room for a sweet, supportive presence. She could be a perfect pair with any of her siblings.

Meet Elliot!
Elliot was found outside by himself with a horrible URI. He came to us, where he has recovered and turned into a total wild child!
Eliot is a tiny terror, and he lets his foster siblings know that he is tiny but mighty! He has no fear and loves to roughhouse with his foster brothers despite his size. He's playful and full of sass, but he also loves to curl up and snuggle with his foster mom once he's tired out. He's really just a little baby at heart.

We were asked to take some kittens after someone was helping a feral colony, and discovered a bunch of kittens! This little group came to us scared and shy, and has grown into the sweetest bunch!
Emerson is a sweet and soulful guy. He's full of purrs and loves to curl up on your lap as you're watching TV, or even laying at your desk while you work. He'll play hard with his foster siblings, but then he's ready to snuggle up and chill.

Meet Hughes!
We were asked to take some kittens after someone was helping a feral colony, and discovered a bunch of kittens! This little group came to us scared and shy, and has grown into the sweetest bunch!
Hughes is a little shy initially, but he warms up fast. Once he's your buddy, he was purring non stop and wants to be your best pal. He loves to carry his toys around and is a huge fan of wet food.

Meet Julien!
We were asked to take some kittens after someone was helping a feral colony, and discovered a bunch of kittens!
This little group came to us scared and shy, and has grown into the sweetest bunch!
Julien has been fostered by a hair stylist, and you'll know that immediately when we tell you the first thing her foster mom told us is "Julien has curtain bangs that fall perfectly every day"! She is so sweet and affectionate, and will ask you to hold her. Once you hold her, she loves getting head and belly scratches.

This little group came to us scared and shy, and has grown into the sweetest bunch!
Bridgers is the only boy of the bunch, and he keeps himself busy! He is incredibly photogenic and curious and brave! He is very chatty, and he'll tell you how he feels! He loves to play and get all the attention. Photos are hard to get because he wants to be as close to you as possible!

Meet Digit!
Digit and her sisters came to us from a rural property. They were so shy, and have come so far!
Digit came to us with a severely infected toe. She did lose part of her toe, but she recovered wonderfully and doesn't have any issues. Because of her medical care in the beginning, she can be a little nervous but quickly warms up. She likes to run around and play! She loves playing with toys she can bite and kick, and she loves a warm lap if it involves a lot of pets.

Meet Angela & Dwight!
This playful, curious pair can't wait to make you fall in love with them!
Phyllis, Angela and Stanley's mom, wandered into a sweet family's yard, and then surprised them with kittens! These kittens have grown up with their littermates, human foster parents, and a 4-year-old human. They are incredibly social, and snuggly when they are finally warn out.
Dwight's favorite times of day are breakfast, lunch, and dinner - he loves to eat and is always first to the food bowl. He is a rough-and-tumble goofball who loves to roll around and jump on his brothers and sister and cuddle them right after. Pictures don't do his stunning bright blue eyes justice.
Angie is a gentle sweetheart who has not yet discovered she is a tortie. She loves to snuggle and purr but holds her own in a playful rumble with her brothers. She loves to climb and wiggle down our toddler's slide and explore small spaces. Her two-tone tortie markings and adorable pink nose make her even more special.

Meet Nesta!
Nesta is a spunky little Tortoiseshell cat with the prettiest markings and cutest meow. She loves to lay on your lap and purr, and sometimes will drool when she’s feeling extra happy. She also loves scratch pads, playing with her catnip toy, and chasing toys. Nesta often does little tongue bleps when she’s playing which is super cute! She hasn’t been around dogs or kids, but has been around her foster's cats and aside from minor hissing, has done great!

Even though she is the smallest of the litter, Ribbon has no problems keeping up with her brothers. She'll happily join in the feay and wrestle with everyone. She has beautiful hazel eyes and a low gentle purr, and likes to fall asleep at your feet.

Meet Thimble!
Thimble went from the most timid to the bravest kitten! Thimble is simultaneously fearless and most gentle. He was the first to decipher the stairs. He loves to cuddle up close- his favorite place being right under your chin. Despite his meticulous grooming, his long hair is always just a little messy, giving him that perfect "genius professor" vibe.
